After sitting (and ducking every time we saw a cop) in the back of the truck for about three hours, we finally got to Lafayette. We stopped for food before the show, but once we got there I was so excited. The people working there were starting to make me really upset, though. I bought my friends Tina, Kim, and I VIP passes for Backstreet Boys and we were told to go to the main box office where we would get our VIP laminates, so this is what I did. When we got there she asked to see my papers that I was supposed to show her, which I did. And she had no idea what she was doing and then acted as though I had no idea what I was talking about. I knew exactly what I was told to do, which is what I was doing. Apparently they didn’t have the laminates though. She said as far as she knew we were supposed to go around to the other door but that’s all she knew. So we follow the arrows on the doors until we see the doors that says Backstreet Boys meet and greet enter here and waited there. Eventually some of the event security people came over and asked to see my paper…apparently THEY had no idea what was going one either. REALLY??? So they were reading my paper and trying to figure it out but had no clue what was going on so they had to wait for some other guy to come over to explain it to them I guess. Finally they did end up letting us inside and we got our VIP laminates and we were told to line up by which VIP package we had. We were first in line so we were talking to the security guy in charge of our line, he was pretty awesome. He was telling us about how he used to be a fan and mentioned that he noticed Kevin was missing from the picture and asked what happened to him. I explained to him why Kevin left, but I was shocked that he even realized one was missing and knew who it was! Finally we were lead inside and we got sat down in the second row, and skfjsdkljf I GOT TO SIT RIGHT SMACK infront of nick’s chair. I loved it. I’ll be uploading the videos to youtube tomorrow so I’ll be posting those all here eventually. Anyway, they performed the soundcheck songs and then they went through and each boy answered one question (which i also have videos of and will upload). Once they were done it was time for our photos. One thing I didn’t like was the fact that they had them standing behind the metal gate, which I already knew from seeing photos from the other shows but that’s kinda lame in my opinion. But when you walked over you got to shake each of their hands. I showed all of them my tattoo of BSB lyrics. Brian and AJ just read it, lipping the words as they did and smiled. Nick read it outloud and then was like aw that’s so awesome! that’s howie’s song! and then howie was like oh wow that’s so cool! We got our picture taken then, which was a group picture since the individual ones were one of the higher priced VIP packages (ridiculous prices btw) but I got to stand between Nick and Brian (which was where i wanted to stand!) so i was totally happy about that. Once our picture was taken we were quickly rushed away and sent back outside to wait to be let back in for the show. We had to wait for about half an hour before we were allowed back inside. I ended up buying a tour shirt, despite the absolutely ridiculous outrageous prices of them, I had to buy one just because i went to the show. After I got my shirt we went to find our seats. The first opening act was Ashlyne Huff, who I’m not a fan of or anything but she did a good job performing. I recorded one little section of hers on my phone of her doing Britney Spears. After her, Jordin Sparks performed and I recorded all of her songs onto my phone, which is less quality and I couldn’t zoom but it was good enough. Then, FINALLY NKOTB and BSB started performing. I video taped every BSB song, and several of NKOTB I got either on the camera or on the phone. It was so amazing. I couldn’t believe it was actually happening and I was FINALLY seeing them after so long. They were one of the first 3 people I became a fan of along with Britney Spears and Spice Girls. I’ve loved them for as long as I can remember and they introduced me into my love of music. I think one of the best things about it was the fact that they performed old songs, which for me made it a million times better since those were the songs that brought me to love them the way I do. It felt like I was thrown back into my childhood. After the concert we got into the truck and enjoyed our uncomfortable 3 hour ride home. Totally worth the uncomfortableness though. I’m still in shock that this actually finally happened. It was amazing! Pictures and Videos will be following this tomorrow, but for now I need to pass out since I hazve to be up early in just a few hours. Night all!
